Situation
Billing itself as the perfect upscale family-friendly getaway, lodges at Deer Valley offers visitors stylish condominium residences in the Park City, Utah, area.
When high-definition television (HDTV) became the standard more than ten years ago, some condo owners opted for HDTV service while others still had only standard definition service.
Even though the owners and rental guests weren’t yet complaining, Anthony Bartholomew, Lodges at Deer Valley’s general manager, knew he needed to find a service provider that could deliver a robust HDTV television lineup that would be an upgrade to what the facility offered at the time.
“We found a service provider that we thought would be an excellent solution,” said Anthony, “but we quickly found that its pricing wasn’t competitive and the provided technology wasn’t satisfactory. The provider simply could not fulfill the existing or future desires of our condo owners and guests.What we needed was a service provider that would enable all of our residences to have a consistently high-level television experience.”
Solution
“Even though we repeatedly rescheduled Groove’s DIRECTV upgrade, the Groove team was extremely accommodating,” said Anthony. “We had a hard deadline of December 4, and the Groove team was committed to finishing the project. All they wanted to know was how they could help. I can tell you that their customer service made a very difficult project much easier.”
The upgrade was successfully completed on schedule as promised. According to Anthony, “In the end, the benefit was not just an upgraded hospitality television experience—they really saved me. Had the Groove team not done what they did, I would’ve had to refund money to guests who checked in only to find that they had no television experience. So, the Groove team’s help was a home run in my mind.”
